He lost to his fellow countryman Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open with the score line of 5-7, 3-6, 2-6. The world number 8 was the last man standing at ATP 500 event at Rotterdam as he defeated Marton Fucsovics in the final. The score line of the final was 7-6, 6-5. He would be hoping to lift another title this week.

The Hungarian is coming to the quarter final after defeating Dusan Lajovic in the round of 16 in three sets. The score line of the match was 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Fucsovics had made it to the final at the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam. Interestingly, he was beaten by Andrey Rublev with the score line of 6-7, 4-6. The world number 44 also made it to the 3rd round of the Australian Open where he lost to Milos Raonic with the score line of 6-7, 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.
