Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev: Match Preview
Alexander Zverev has experienced a lot of ups and downs this season. He suffered heartbreak when Jannik Sinner denied him his career’s first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

Following several unsuccessful attempts to win a title, which saw him lose six consecutive tournaments without reaching the semifinals, Sascha lifted the Munich Open by defeating Ben Shelton. His poor run continued in the next few events, including at the French Open, where last year he was the runner-up.
Zverev then suffered his fifth consecutive defeat against Taylor Fritz in the Stuttgart Open final. The next time he progressed to the final was at the Vienna Open, where he once again found himself facing Sinner, who clinched the win in three sets.
Before arriving in Turin, the three-time Grand Slam finalist lost to eventual champion Sinner in the Paris Masters semifinal, where Zverev could win just one game. Sinner, on the other hand, has achieved a lot this season, despite his three-month doping ban.
After defending his Australian Open title, Sinner stayed on the sidelines for three months and made his comeback at the Italian Open, only to play the final against arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz, who won the match and also denied him his second French Open title following a thrilling five-set contest. Sinner took his revenge in the Wimbledon final, winning his career’s first Grand Slam title outside of the hardcourts.
He then went on to play the finals of the Cincinnati Masters, US Open, Vienna Open, and the Paris Masters, losing the first two to Alcaraz and winning the latter events against Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime. So far this season, the four-time Grand Slam champion has played nine finals, including in the four Grand Slam events, lifting five titles.
Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev: Match Prediction
Sinner, who is in red-hot form, will enter the match as the favorite to win. He, in fact, is playing as the defending champion (defeated Fritz last year).

Sinner was also the finalist of the season-ending championship in 2023, losing the match to the tournament’s most successful player, Novak Djokovic. The 24-year-old made his debut in the ATP Finals back in 2021 and reached the round-robin stage.
Zverev has been featuring at the ATP Finals since 2017 (except for the 2022 season, as he suffered a major injury during the French Open). He is a two-time ATP Finals champion, winning in 2018 by beating Djokovic and in 2021 by beating Daniil Medvedev. Last year, he lost to eventual runner-up Fritz in the semifinals.
Sinner has clashed with Zverev nine times and leads 5-4 in the head-to-head matchups. The World No.1 has also won the three matches he played against the 28-year-old this year.
Match prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in straight sets.
