Khachanov has had a good run on the tour since the Australian Summer. First he reached the Semi Finals of the Adelaide International, where he got beaten by Jannik Sinner. Then he made it to the third round of the Australian Open where Matteo Berrettini had his number.

He did well in the Rotterdam Cup too, reaching the Quarter Finals where he was beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas. Seeded third at this year’s Open 13 Provence, Khachanov had a bye in the first round. He played Mackenzie McDonald in the second round and defeated him 7-6 6-4.

His opponent in the Quarter Finals is Qualifier Matthew Ebden. Ebden has done well to qualify into the main draw of the Open 13 Provence. In the first round he got the better of Benjamin Bonzi, 3-6 7-6 6-3. He overcame Emil Ruusuvuori in the second, 6-2 6-2.
