Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner were the two dominant stars in the 2025 ATP Tour season, having won all the Grand Slams among themselves. ATP star Cameron Norrie revealed in an interview that he’s a more loyal fan of Alcaraz than Sinner on tour.

Alcaraz and Sinner’s success on tour has not been limited to this season alone. Since the start of the 2024 season, the duo has dominated the men’s circuit, winning all the Grand Slams. In 2025, Alcaraz won the French Open and the US Open, while Sinner claimed the Wimbledon Championships and the Australian Open.

Both players also won four of the nine ATP Masters 1000 crowns this season. Alcaraz claimed the Monte Carlo, Italian Open, and Cincinnati Open, while Sinner won the Rolex Paris Masters in October. They also faced each other on six occasions this season, all coming in tournament finals.

Alcaraz won four of their meetings and lost two of them. However, Sinner won their last meeting at the ATP Finals in Turin, where he defeated the World No.1 in straight sets to claim the season-ending crown for the second time in his career. The title was his sixth of the season despite serving a three months suspension.

Norrie, who defeated Alcaraz at the Paris Masters in October was asked to choose his preferred player between the Spaniard and Sinner. The British No.2 revealed on the Nothing Major podcast that he’s loyal to Alcaraz because he supports him and has played with him on several occasions on the court:

I’ve never played against Sinner. I’ve trained with him a lot. I really want to play against him. I’d like to do that before giving you my honest opinion, but to be honest, I always support Alcaraz. I think he has more variety in his game and I love watching him play. He’s so good to watch, he’s my favorite player. So I always support Alcaraz and I remain loyal to him.

Norrie ended the 2025 season as World No.27. His best Grand Slam run was at the Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the quarter-finals before losing to Alcaraz in straight sets. He had great wins against Daniil Medvedev in the first round of the French Open and over Alcaraz in the round of 32 of the Rolex Paris Masters.

Carlos Alcaraz praises Joao Fonseca after their exhibition clash in Miami

Carlos Alcaraz and Joao Fonseca met at the Miami Invitational exhibition event on Monday (December 8). Alcaraz looked in control of the match, especially in the first set, but needed to snatch a late break to clinch the set before falling rapidly to the Brazilian teenager. However, the 22-year-old eventually put up a good fight to beat Fonseca 7-5, 2-6, 10-8, showing his experience and class.

It was back to winning ways for Alcaraz, who had lost to Frances Tiafoe just a day before the match in Miami in the A Racquet at The Rock event in New Jersey. After the match, Alcaraz praised Fonseca for his brilliance on the court and went on to make some good remarks about the exhibition tournament:

Well, it was really, really special. Playing with Joao—I had never played with him or against him before—so this was the first time, in this beautiful scenario. I’ve never played in a baseball stadium before, so it was really special. Coming back to Miami in front of these amazing people, they always bring great energy. It’s always a great opportunity and a very special moment.

Alcaraz will now take a break from competing in exhibition tournaments, but will be back at it next year and this time around, he will be facing his arch-rival Jannik Sinner in Seoul, South Korea. The match will be just eight days before the 2026 Australian Open kicks off in Melbourne.
