The world of MMA is exciting and unpredictable. It’s not often that we see a low-ranked fighter try to take on one of the sport’s rising stars. But that’s exactly what Australian fighter Jacob Malkoun is attempting. He called out Bo Nickal; the results are nothing short of comedic gold.
Jacob Malkoun recently took to social media to issue a challenge to the UFC’s hotshot prospect, Bo Nickal. His post insinuated that Nickal had a tendency to fight only low-ranked fighters. Malkoun asked for a shot while poking fun at Nickal.

Nickal is currently 6-0 with 5 of those wins coming in the UFC. His opponents in the UFC have not been of his caliber. This raised questions about whether UFC was shielding Bo Nickal and only pitting low-ranked fighters against him. His previous opponent, Cody Brundage, was his toughest fight yet. But still, the American wrestler was a whopping -2000 favorite to win the fight.
It must also be noted that some of his previous opponents weren’t full-time fighters. Brundage, for example, kind of has a journeyman career. Val Woodburn was a gardener alongside being a fighter. Nickal was disappointed in his performance against Brundage.
The college wrestling standout recently said in his post-fight interview that he wasn’t ready for the title shot yet. He gave himself some more fights to win before going after that belt. As such, Malkoun utilized the opportunity to challenge Nickal to a fight, considering his status as an unranked opponent.
Dagestani Ikram Aliskerov calls out Bo Nickal
Ikram Aliskerov is a rising star in his own way. But his status as “the rising star” dwindles in comparison to Bo Nickal. Both these fighters train out different branches of the American Top Team. Aliskerov did not shy away from calling out the wrestling phenom.

Aliskerov is a four-time Combat Sambo World Champion hailing from Dagestan. He threw down the gauntlet to the UFC’s latest wonder kid. He called out the undefeated Nickal after knocking out Phil Hawes at UFC 288. Alikserov told Joe Rogan about his interest in testing out the college wrestling standout.
Hey, Bo Nickal, brother, I heard you say you want to fight with Dagestan guy. Hey bro, I am here… I'll be ready… He say he want to fight with Dagestan guy, I am here.Ikram Aliskerov after UFC 288 post fight interview

The former NCAA wrestling standout has torn through the unranked fighters of UFC’s middleweight division like a hot knife through butter. He made no secret of his desire to test his skills against the best that Dagestan has to offer. It was a bold move from Aliskerov. Sooner or later, Alikerov and Nickal would eventually compete inside the octagon due to their high potential as an MMA fighter.
