Andrey Rublev has been playing exceptionally well since the last season. He has gone undefeated at the 2021 ATP Cup, losing just 1 set along the way. Rublev is just coming off of a straight-sets victory against Fabio Fognini in the final of the ATP Cup, beating the Italian 6-1/6-2.

He had a breakthrough 2020 season. And now he looks like a man on a mission, and it will take an extremely big effort by anyone to stop him. Rublev loves playing on hardcourts, as he unsettles his opponents with his powerful and continuous groundstrokes.

His opponent, Yannick Hanfmann is a very good player in early rounds of smaller tournaments, and Challenger Tour tournaments, beating the likes of Gael Monfils.
