The dark clouds looming over Drew McIntyre‘s contract situation have finally been cleared, as he signed a new multi-year deal with WWE. The Rock shared a video on social media in which he congratulated the Scottish Warrior on his contract extraction. However, the video was shot before the actual negotiations even happened.
According to reports from PWInsider, Drew McIntyre agreed with WWE and signed a deal, which was believed to be in the area of 3 years. Both parties seemed satisfied with the deal, as the 38-year-old star is enjoying his heel run right now. WWE announced this through The Rock, who even gifted him his beloved sword as promised.
Following his loss at Survivor Series: WarGames, reports began to surface online suggesting that he was dissatisfied with the treatment from the company. Many fans genuinely thought he would leave and join their rival company, AEW. McIntyre’s previous contract was going to expire within the next month. As a result, WWE made it a priority to re-sign him before the Clash at the Castle event in Scotland.
Speaking about his character work, he is currently involved in a rivalry with CM Punk. McIntyre not only injured The Best in the World during the Royal Rumble match but also relentlessly taunted him afterward. However, the 45-year-old finally got his revenge when his distraction allowed Damian Priest to capitalize and win the title at WrestleMania XL. Needless to say, the new deal will allow McIntyre and Punk to put their story to an end.
Drew McIntyre had a hilarious reaction when CM Punk had to sign his shirt
When The Second City Saint was greeting fans during the autograph signing session, a fan tried to get his sign on his arch-rival Drew McIntyre’s shirt. Although he did sign the shirt, his reaction was absolutely hilarious. The 38-year-old star reacted to the video and decided to have some fun on social media.
McIntyre took to X and proudly expressed his elation, relishing the moment as his rival had to sign his shirt. Fans haven’t witnessed their rivalry play out in the ring due to the 45-year-old veteran’s tricep injury. However, their heated exchanges outside the ring have kept audiences on the edge of their seats.
Recently, Punk came out to address the audience after SmackDown went off-air. The Best in the World shared positive news regarding his injury and stated that his arm brace was now off, and he would soon be fighting again in the ring. It will be interesting to see how he will answer his adversary’s insults when he is wrestling-ready.
