Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo made history by getting 2 Olympic gold medals after Team USA’s victory in the 2024 Summer Games. The dedicated episode of the Paris Olympics documentary, ‘Court of Gold’, accurately displayed his contributions. Apart from hearing his life story and his struggles, the fans also got an insight from his mom, Marilyn Adebayo.

Netflix’s documentary series allows viewers to reflect on Team USA’s historic feat at the Paris Olympics. The six-episodic series presents the behind-the-scenes of several NBA players who led the team to victory against France. Bam Adebayo‘s contributions also did not go unnoticed as the newly launched episode with 42-minute airtime solely covered the Heat star.

Not just that, the installment also features his mom, who was also present at the stadium to watch him make history. Taking to X, the 27-year-old expressed his gratitude and ‘tears of joy’ after seeing his mom on the Netflix screen.

Bam Adebayo shares a close relationship with his mom who is often cheering for him from the stands. Adebayo also bought his mom a new house after signing his five-year contract extension in 2020. In recent times, he also partnered up with her to create a limited edition signature blend with Maker’s Mark becoming the first mother-son duo from the league to have done that.

Bam Adebayo played all six games in the 2024 Olympics averaging 6.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Off the court, he was an optimistic presence in the locker room motivating his teammates. The documentary also featured Team USA’s head coach, Steve Kerr, and NBA Hall-of-Famer Grant Hill, who had high praise for Adebayo.
