FC Barcelona are in search of buying a world-class left winger to strengthen their left side of the attack. Per reports from SPORT, the Catalan club have set their sights on Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to strengthen their left-wing position in the upcoming season. The club feels that the Napoli man is a realistic target for the club to sign.
Kvaratskhelia’s wages are €1.5 million per year currently and this is perfectly alright for Barcelona. Barca can definitely meet the wage demands of the player. The player is just 23-year-old, and hence, has his prime period ahead of him.
Hansi Flick’s side feels that the Napoli man can serve Barca for a longer time and can also fit easily into the team’s style of playing.
Kvaratskhelia has an outstanding ability to dribble past defenders and is also a natural left-winger who can take on defenders, changing matches on his own. The Napoli man can create chances from any angle and is a top-level creative player on the final third of the field.
He has managed to score five goals and provide three assists in the 16 games played across competitions so far this season.
However, Barca do have an obstacle in front of them. Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has always been a tough negotiator, and the Napoli man does not even have a release clause.
So, it won’t be easy for the Catalan club to get their hands on the left-winger. Barca have definitely missed a world-class left-winger since the time Neymar left the club. Ousmane Dembele was not consistent and suffered with injury problems. Ansu Fati displayed great promise in the start of his career, but since then, has faced a series of injuries which has kept him out of the game.
Barcelona will not let Frenkie De Jong leave the club for free in 2026
The future of Frenkie De Jong has been a talking point in the Catalan club of late. De Jong has suffered with persistent injuries which has kept him out of the game for a prolonged period.
Moreover, his performance level has dropped down. Additionally, he is one of the highest earners in the team and has shown no signs of reducing his wages.
SPORT has reported that Barca will even accept as low as a €20 million offer for the Dutch midfielder but not let him leave for free in 2026. The fanbase of the club has also started to show frustrations on the performance of the midfielder.
Moreover, young players like Marc Casado, Pedri, Gavi and Dani Olmo have performed really well in the midfield region. It remains to be seen what happens with De Jong in the future.
