A former WWE star is all for Goldberg to dethrone Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in his last outing at SNME.

There’s no shortage of the fuss in the pro wrestling market regarding what’s going to happen when Goldberg steps into the ring with Gunther this weekend. The pundits of the game have already conjured up their theories, but they’re mostly anti-Goldberg. For a change, ex-WWE star Baron Corbin has stated that the company should put the world title on the Hall of Famer at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Why did Corbin say so? Does he see any long-term benefits in making a 58-year-old veteran represent WWE as its world title holder? Actually, it’s none of that. Corbin, speaking on Busted Open Radio, quipped that he wants to enjoy the online discourse that would follow if it actually happens. ‘The Lone Wolf’ was cracking up while talking about the potential meltdown the fans will have if Goldberg does beat Gunther.
Put the title on him, baby. Let’s go. Just to irritate everyone. I mean, I’m a naturally, I’m a bad guy, I want Goldberg to win…. Can you imagine the meltdown the people are gonna have.

The former Raw General Manager couldn’t help but envision both John Cena and Goldberg as the world champions of WWE in 2025. Corbin then joked about the four-minute matches they will have just to offend the fanbase even further. Talk about ruining wrestling for everyone? That would be quite a way to do it, emphasized the 40-year-old.
It would be so funny! I mean look at all the nerds already mad in the comments haha.

Corbin recently reacted to a post aggregating his comments on X, saying, “It would be so funny! I mean, look at all the nerds already mad in the comments haha.” WWE has noted that the SNME outing will be Goldberg’s last, but things will get interesting if he pulls off a big upset on ‘The Ring General’ in Atlanta.
What happened between Goldberg and Gunther on Raw?
This past Monday on Raw, ‘Da Man’ finally pulled up to the show in a red Chevrolet Chevelle car to interrupt Gunther. The latter was talking trash about the 58-year-old not confronting him since they met a few weeks ago. The former Imperium leader said he couldn’t help but believe that Goldberg was scared of him.

Right after that, ‘Da Man’ made his presence felt. He stepped out of his car and made an emphatic entrance into the arena. It’s worth noting that the fans in Providence went nuts for the Hall of Famer’s arrival, who made a beeline for his nemesis in the ring.
Just when Gunther was about to say something, the former Universal title holder smashed his microphone to the ground. Goldberg was screaming at the Austrian to take a swing at him. The latter tried doing so but ended up taking a right jab across his jaw.
Gunther fell to the ring canvas and could’ve been cleaned up by a spear from ‘Da Man’, but he retreated in time. ‘The Ring General’ had previously claimed that it’s his responsibility to bury the legacy and myth of Bill Goldberg. Does he feel the same way anymore? There’s not much time left to find out.
Goldberg backs Bron Breakker as the only wrestler to use the spear in WWE
In a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, Goldberg was made aware that The Undertaker recently claimed that Bron Breakker should be the only man in WWE to use the spear. Taker had apparently made up his mind after seeing Breakker chop IShowSpeed in half in this year’s 30-man Royal Rumble match.

Circling back to Goldberg, he concurred with ‘The Phenom’s’ assessment. Goldberg has been pretty vocal about his penchant for ‘The Unpredictable Badass’, as the latter’s explosive strength reminds the Tulsa native of himself.

Moreover, the former defensive tackle for the Falcons is close with Breakker’s uncle and father, known as the Steiner Brothers, as they used to hang out with Goldberg during their wrestling heyday. At one point, there were some rumors regarding the Seth Rollins faction member being the potential last match opponent for the former WCW Champion.
