The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Washington Wizards 123-113 on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Most of the credit goes to a career-high 55 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Basketball has been wildly entertaining lately; this was the fourth 50-point game in the last 4 days in the NBA, and several players continue to break records and make their names in the history books.
Antetokounmpo came into the game as the league’s third-leading scorer with 32.1 points per game. At the end of the third quarter, he had 36. He tied a franchise record (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1972 and Flynn Robinson in 1969) and established a career-high when he crossed the 40-point mark on a shot with 8:53 left in regulation.
Antetokoumpo has now scored at least 40 points in Milwaukee’s last three games, too. Giannis averaged 47.6 points and 17.3 rebounds in these three matches. “He’s just been phenomenal,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said, via Bally Sports. “It’s hard to come up with all the words to describe him. He was incredibly special tonight.” Milwaukee lead through most parts of the game on Tuesday, even more, impressive and wild was the fact that they closed the 2nd quarter on a 15-0 run. The Wizards struggled throughout the game to cut down the lead but were largely unsuccessful.

After watching Giannis dominate and singlehandedly bully the Wizards‘ defense, fans showered praise for the Greek Freak on Twitter. One of the fans said Giannis was a “Basketball Greek God.” Another fan wrote, “Man saw how badly we got stomped last game and said f**k it I’ll do it myself.” Here are some of the fans’ reactions;
In his 55 domination over the Wizards, Giannis made 20 of his 33 field goals in just 37 minutes of the game. He also had 10 rebounds and 7 assists in the game. Behind Giannis, Brook Lopez had 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bobby Portis, who led the Bucks in points in their last game against the Wizards, came off the bench to score 17 points. Portis also had 13 crucial rebounds for the Bucks. All three players securing at least 10 rebounds says a lot about Milwaukee’s paint defense.
Kristaps Porzingis, who was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, scored team-high 22 points for the Wizards. He also had 9 rebounds. Kyle Kuzma, who had a triple-double against the Bucks two nights ago, had 20 points and 4 rebounds. Bradley Beal came into the game but played for only 13 minutes, before being taken out with the same injury; hamstring tightness.
