NC State Wolfpack’s DJ Burns took the team to a sweet victory against the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday. Burns also stole the attention for another incident during the game. As the Wolfpack were winning the game, Burns made sure to taunt the Duke’s crowd as NC State moved ahead.

Once the game entered the final stages, Burns took a moment to let the Duke crowd know about the Blue Devils’ exit from the Elite Eight. The 23-year-old told the crowd that their season was over with a little victory dance taunting the audience. The forward had a season-high 29-point game for the team to reach the Final Four in March Madness 2024.

The 11th-seeded Wolfpack defeated the 4th-seeded Blue Devils 76-64. The NC State has won five games in the last five days in the NCAA tournament. The Duke dominated the first half by taking a 27-21 lead. However, the situation turned in the opposite direction as the Wolfpack brutally outscored the Blue Devils 55-37 in the second half.

The Wolfpack have taken the last spot in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament. The NC State will take on Purdue Boilermakers after upsetting the Duke. Another fantastic performance from Burns could help the team reach the finals of the men’s college basketball championship.

Nikola Jokic praises DJ Burns after NC State’s win over Duke

The two-time MVP Nikola Jokic joined the rest of the basketball fans to praise the NC State’s DJ Burns. After scoring another triple-double against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, the Denver Nuggets center was asked about his thoughts on the young player at NC State.

Jokic praised the Wolfpack’s forward and his skills. The Nuggets superstar praised Burns for having a positive impact on his teammates. The former champion also did not fail to acknowledge the Wolfpacks’ success in the past few days.

Receiving compliments from a champion and former MVP can certainly be a motivating factor for Burns to move ahead. The Wolfpack will make their first Final Four appearance since 1983. In the matchup, the big men of college basketball, Burns and Purdue’s Zach Edey, will face each other to qualify for the 2024 NCAA championship final.
