Battlefield 2042 Beta Delay: New Beta Dates & reasons for delay

Battlefield 2042 was scheduled to be released early in the October, but has now been delayed. The Battlefield 2042 Beta Delay has been seen by the community as the right move and fans speculate performance tweaks and further modifying it.

The game is a FPS shooter and the hype around it has been great with the community and developers both gearing up for its launch. However, due to some circumstances the dates for the beta release as well as the complete game, has been delayed by almost a month. The original release dates for this month has been pushed back to October 6th for pre-orders and October 8th for everyone else.

The Battlefield 2042 delay was a combination of a few speculated problems that the game might be facing after the running of the alpha test. A few of the problems that the developers might be facing are listed down below.

The first problem confirmed by Jim Hejl, an EA member, is Terrain Tessellation. Battlefield 2042 has introduced some great terrain adjustments with a new engine which makes it seem the vehicle is going through rocky terrain with adjusting visuals while moving, to give a sense of realism.

This was one of the main features noticed in the alpha test and this can cause some performance issues for player’s system. Therefore, for flawless performance this feature is being tweaked.

Another hint came from Niels Stoelinga, who is a developer at DICE. His post on twitter, showed that they are fixing the majority of the bugs found in the alpha testing phase and the additional time will be very helpful. His post ends on a hopeful note that the game is close to completion!

This Battlefield 2042 Beta Delay is welcomed by the majority of the community as this ensures a better game coming out in the beta phase and with less bugs. As seen in the earlier, Cyberpunk 2077 release that was riddled with bugs, the further work on Battlefield 2042 is a welcome move from the developers and is also supported by the community.

However, the pushing back of the dates might be disheartening to the fans and players that were eagerly awaiting the release of the beta. The promised dates in October are crucial as this may be the breaking point for the interest in the game and a further delay might wane off the interest.

The complete game is set to release on November 19th, 2021 worldwide!
