Bayern Munich vs RB Salzburg

Bayern Munich vs RB Salzburg:  Bayern Munich took on RB Salzburg in the 2nd leg of UCL Round of 16. The first leg ended 1-1 and gave Salzburg hope of creating a major upset. But that was not the case as Bayern smashed Salzburg 7-1. The overall score of the tie was 8-2.

A 11 minute Lewandowski hat-trick helped Bayern make their way into the CL quarters. Gnabry added a 4th soon and Muller got a couple of goals in the 54th and 83rd minute. Sane added a 7th in the 85th minute.

Let’s take a look at the player ratings for Bayern Munich vs RB Salzburg:-

Manuel Neur(7/10):Neur was not troubled much but did his part whenever he was called into action.Could not have done anything to prevent the goal.

Niklas Süle(6.6/10):The German defender was solid in the defence line making a few good interceptions and also made a few long balls.

Benjamin Pavard(6.8/10):Pavard almost conceded a goal after giving the ball away in a dangerous position but did well in the air and made some good long balls from the back.

Lucas Hernández(6.6/10):The French left-back had a very quiet game and hardly did anything impactful.

Jamal Musiala(6.8/10):The 19 year old had a decent game making good passes in the midfield and winning 50-50s.

Joshua Kimmich(7.8/10):Kimmich saw a lot of the ball and tried playing progressive passes from midfield. His reading of the game was top.

Leroy Sané (9/10):Assisted 2 goals and scored one.Was silky with his dribbling skills and was too hot to handle for the opposition defence.

Serge Gnabry(7.4/10):The German winger scored the 4th goal of the night with a low finish. He looked dangerous but was taken off after half-time.

Kingsley Coman(7.7/10):The French winger looked very dangerous and played a good pass to tee up Gnabry for his goal.

Thomas Muller(9/10):Muller scored a good brace with clinical finishes. He also played some good passes to create chances and shooting opportunities for his teammates.

Robert Lewandowski(9.6/10):The Polish striker scored a hat-trick in 11 mins. He converted well from the spot 2 times after winning both penalties and got a little lucky after the ball deflected off him from the keeper’s attempted clearance and hit the post before he tapped it into the empty net.He also assisted Muller’s second goal.

Couldn't ask for a better start 🤩

Substitutes:

Bouna Sarr(6.4/10): Had a decent game after coming on and made a couple of good dribble attempts.

Dayot Upamecano(6/10): Did not have much to do after coming on but was caught out for the goal.

T Nianzou(5.8/10):  Did not have much to do after coming on but was caught out for the goal.

Marc Roca(/10): Did well after coming on and switched the play well with long balls.

Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting(6.2/10): Did not have much of an impact after coming on.

Full-time: A rough night in Munich ends our record Champions League run. #FCBSAL #UCL pic.twitter.com/Bbj46TvQD0

Philipp Köhn (4.9/10): The goalkeeper should not have let in Gnabry’s shot at the near post. He was also at fault for Lewandowski’s third goal where he had a failed sweeping attempt. Letting in 7 goals had definitely made it a night to forget for him.

Rasmus Kristensen(5.5/10): Did not have any impact as a fullback and had poor passing accuracy. Was destroyed by the pace of the Bayer Wingers.

Andreas Ulmer(5.3/10): Poor display from the captain as he could not do anything to stop Bayern’s attack nor create anything for his team from the flank. Gave up lots of space for the forwards to exploit.

Maximilian Wöber(5/10): The center-back had a night to forget after conceding two penalties 2 minutes apart for clumsy challenges on Lewandowski in the box.

Congratulations, @FCBayernEN! All the best in the rest of the competition! #FCBSAL #UCL pic.twitter.com/09MQMfKlHd

Oumar Solet(5.8/10): Solet could not deal with the skill of the Bayern front line and had a poor outing. Was subbed off at half-time.

Nicolas Seiwald(6.1/10): Made a few good passes but his overall game was weak and poor. He also missed an easy chance.

Mohamed Camara(5.8/10): Camara could not get a hold of the ball much for someone playing in midfield. He lacked the creativity to get his side higher up the pitch.

Nicolás Capaldo(5.9/10): Capaldo played a few good long balls but otherwise his passing was poor and he gave up possession a few times.

Brenden Aaronson(5.5/10): Had a poor game where nothing came off for him. He could not impact anything for his team.

Karim Adeyemi(6.4/10): Looked like the best Salzburg player on the pitch today. He tried to get his team on the scoresheet.

Chukwubuike Adamu(6.3/10): Had a quiet game before being subbed off in the 62nd minute.

Half-time: It actually started quite well, but this Bayern are pretty formidable. #FCBSAL #UCL pic.twitter.com/ytoPuk2ytn

Substitutes:

K Piatkowski (5/10): Was not an upgrade to Solet who he replaced and was easily caught out by the Bayern forwards.

Luka Sucic(6/10): Could not do much after coming on and was a spectator for a majority.

M Kjaergaard(7/10): Scored a consolation goal for his team with a powerful strike after coming on.

S Tijani(5.9/10): Hardly saw the ball after coming on and was not influential.

B Sesko(NA): Hardly saw the ball after coming on
