In 2018, WWE produced one of its most unique events of all time. It was an all women’s event called ‘Evolution’. The show featured women of all eras coming together to deliver a revolutionary show. However, it was the one and only PLE of its kind, as WWE never visited the gimmick event again. Now, it seems like WWE Women’s Champion Bayley has taken the matter into her own hands to bring back the event once again.
Speaking on ‘What Do You Wanna To Talk About?’, the Role Model said that Evolution has the potential to work at this time. She vouched that the women’s locker room is stacked at the moment, featuring stars from both Raw and SmackDown. Therefore, an all-women’s PLE can play a major role in promoting the upcoming female wrestling generation.
You can bring someone in from the past if they're up for it to do a little something, but we have such a stacked roster right now where we can hold down a show on our own, another PLE on our own, and it's been so many years, but I think it's time because it is a different era.Bayley on bringing back the Evolution PLE
The Women’s Champion added that WWE can bring back the legends from the past, including female stars from NXT and even TNA. She also mentioned Jordynne Grace, who recently competed at the NXT Battleground last month. Bayley called Evolution 2 an opportunity for the women to shine once again and get the spotlight they have been missing lately.
Besides, an all-women’s PLE might work as a bridge between the audience and the young talent. In fact, WWE can also introduce the rumored midcard women’s title at the event. Moreover, WWE’s partnership with TNA, NOAH, Marigold, and other promotions can be a vital opportunity for women around the world to shine.
Bayley vouched for more TV time for women’s wrestling
Bayley spoke a lot about women’s wrestling with Cody Rhodes on the aforementioned podcast. With a desire to see Evolution 2, the Role Model also asked WWE to have more women’s wrestling on TV. She added that it is not necessary to feature matches. However, each star should have added depth to their respective characters as well.
The Women’s Champion added that it is not imperative to have every woman’s storyline involve only the championship. WWE can have more personal feuds that highlight the characters of the female stars. The 35-year-old star said that WWE can have more interactions among the superstars.
It doesn’t have to be wrestling, it doesn’t always have to be match time, it doesn’t always have to be the number of matches. I think the more that they can show who we are and show our characters and embrace that a little bit more it would be helpful.Bayley
Moreover, the SmackDown star appreciated the ongoing feud between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. She said that this rivalry has made the championship look secondary and has become more personal than ever. Besides, Bayley also has a huge target on her back as she is scheduled to face Nia Jax at SummerSlam. It is going to be interesting to see what she’s up to this week on SmackDown on the road to the Biggest Party of Summer.
