“We NEED Tiff as champ”- WWE Universe divided over Bayley retaining her Women’s Championship against Tiffany Stratton and Naomi at Backlash
The Role Model came out unscathed in her maiden Women's title defense.

It was make-or-break for Bayley at Backlash. Right from the get-go, her challengers, viz., Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, were on the move. There were bodies in the ring vying for the Women’s Championship. After shrugging off some initial butterflies in her stomach, if any, Tiffany turned the heat on The Role Model. Naomi was a non-factor for a while.
The Champion was then startled with Stratton’s unprecedented athleticism. Naomi too made her presence felt but got flattened by a back elbow, courtesy of The Buff Barbie abutting the barricade. Ms. Florida did get one up on Bayley as she executed a high-risk blockbuster neck-breaker atop a barricade. Just when Stratton was about to plant Bayley with the prettiest moonsault ever, Trinity Fatu pulled her out of the ring.
She then took both Bayley and Naomi on a ride of her patented Alabama Slams on the outside. The babyfaces took Tiffany out with a 1-D while working in tandem. At the end, even though it was Fatu who looked to steal a march over the former Damage CTRL leader, the latter rolled her up to successfully retain her title.
And unlike some bitter foes squabbing with each other, Naomi hugged it out with Bayley for being the better women at the office in Lyon. Interestingly enough, Tiffany Stratton didn’t end up eating the pinfall. If that could mean that The Center of the Universe might be in for another title shot down the line. However, the 49ers buff, Bayley, now needs to resort her focus to Nia Jax. The latter made her intentions clear last week on SmackDown.
WWE fans voice in Tiffany Stratton’s dismay as she went down to Bayley and Naomi at Backlash
In a bout that clocked-in at exactly 30 seconds past 13 minutes, Bayley reigned supreme at Backlash. She was in a precarious situation coming into this match. Knowing that she could’ve lost the title in the blink of an eye with triple-threat rules, the former Hugger trumped her competition.
However, as usual, the fans on social media have tucked in their two cents. Most of them were elated that the 34-year-old wasn’t dethroned. Having said that, there were a few who thought it could’ve been Tiffany Stratton‘s night in France.
A fan even pointed out the brusque ending of that match. It so happened in a jittery manner when The Role Model rolled Naomi up for that three count. Fans couldn’t help but declare Tiffany as the MVP of that classic showing the women had.
