BCCI reveales new logo for upcoming 2020 IPL season

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday revealed a new logo for the upcoming 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) season starring new title sponsor Dream11.

From a fantasy league company to sponsoring the IPL, Dream11 has come a long way. Dream11 won the rights with a bid of Rs. 222 crore in Tuesday’s bidding procedure.

Dream11 on Tuesday appeared as the highest bidder for IPL 2020 title sponsorship. The Sports fantasy league company exceed Byju’s and Unacademy who had submitted a bid of Rs. 201 crore and Rs. 170 crore respectively.

Earlier, Chinese mobile company Vivo suspended the IPL title sponsorship rights for 2020 due to raising border tensions between India and China.

Mumbai Indians franchise who is all set to board a flight to UAE for IPL 2020 on Friday, also shared the logo on their social media handle and wrote, “Now taking guard, #Dream11IPL”.

Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday arrived in the UAE and all ready to gear up for the upcoming IPL season in UAE. Various cricketers of their respective teams also took to social media to share glimpses of their trips.

As per the norms of this IPL, franchises landed in Dubai via a charter plan due to the ongoing situation.

Sixty games will be played over 53 days across three venues – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The opening match of this edition will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on September 19.
