Becky Lynch expected to be offered most lucrative contract for a woman in wrestling history: Reports
For the first time in eleven years, Becky Lynch is no longer a WWE Superstar.

As of June 1, Becky Lynch is officially a free agent. The Man competed against Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage match on Raw, which ended up being the last of her previous contract. Following the loss on Monday, she implicitly told the WWE Universe she would come back while confirming her hiatus. In terms of her status, Fightful provided an update after Lynch’s contract ended on Saturday.
As per sources in WWE and those close to Lynch, she is expected to renew and stay with the promotion. Nonetheless, the former Women’s Champion will most likely be receiving huge offers from other wrestling companies. More importantly, some suggest that she’ll be getting the most lucrative contract offer for a female wrestler in history.
While there are a lot of promotions monitoring the situation, the two most viable options for her are AEW and WWE. In fact, the Tony Khan-led company signed Mercedes Mone to possibly the current largest contract for a woman in the industry. Having said that, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Khan break the bank for Becky Lynch.
Amidst the free agency battle, Big Time Becks will be taking a long, extended leave from wrestling. According to Dave Meltzer of WON, the Irish wrestler won’t be appearing on television until next year’s Royal Rumble. Another factor to be noted is that Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins, recently extended his contract with WWE. Therefore, it will be interesting to see where the future of the 37-year-old lies ahead.
Becky Lynch is not the only Superstar with an uncertain future in WWE
To say that Becky Lynch’s future in WWE is ‘secure’ might be a blatant lie. After all, the landscape has significantly changed since AEW’s inception in 2019. The free agent market might open up soon, as Lynch isn’t the only one whose contract hasn’t been extended yet.
Over the past month or so, Fightful has reported that Natalya, Chad Gable, Dijak, and Ricochet all have deals that are close to expiring. This has garnered criticism from fans who have called out WWE for showing negligence in terms of contract extensions.
In addition to these stars, the likes of Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor also had their deals coming up in the summer. However, WWE managed to lock in both stars to ‘big’ money deals. Needless to say, only time will tell whether the promotion fixes this recurring issue.
