Becky Lynch is a megastar. ‘The Man’ returned to WWE last year after a maternity break, defeating Bianca Belair for her smackdown title. She then exchanged her title with Charlotte’s RAW title and then was recently defeated by Bianca Belair at this year’s Wrestlemania.

After Asuka was promoted from WWE NXT to the main roster, it looked like the stars might be aligning for her. After a record-breaking 510-day reign as the undefeated NXT women’s champion, she lost that title due to an injury to the collarbone. NXT had nothing left for her, so she sought the more lucrative prospects on the main roster of WWE.

Two years ago on WWE Backstage on, Becky, talked about her Feud with Asuka and how WWE messed Asuka’s character. Breaking her character on the show, she gave some shocking statement. She said:

“Asuka was a monster in NXT. She was undefeated and no one could touch her. She came up to the main roster without ever tasting defeat and then WWE screwed up. She had this phenomenal run in NXT, she was booked to win 90% of her matches. Then, last year at WrestleMania, she got the rug pulled from under her. I felt bad for her. I know what it’s like to be in that position. I want to make her a monster”

Becky Lynch making Asuka the star?

Typically, wrestlers are only interested in making themselves famous. But Becky Lynch had shown everything in her promos to imply that Asuka had always been the better wrestler in the feud. While Charlotte Flair ended Asuka’s winning streak at Asuka’s first WrestleMania, proving that she’s the real women’s star in wrestling, Becky Lynch’s interview seemed to be an attempt to prove to the world that women in WWE are not ready for Asuka yet.
