The Man didn't hold back when she quipped that Nikki Bella and her ex, John Cena, were supposed to be the greatest wrestling couple in history.

Women’s wrestling icon Nikki Bella has had a tumultuous track record of real-life relationships. While her previous one with Artem Chigvintsev ended last year on a highly tragic note, the one she had with John Cena was mentioned on this week’s Raw. ‘The Fearless One’ confronted Becky Lynch, and what started off as an amicable exchange went off the rails in a hurry.
After Bella disrespected Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins, for being a liar, the reigning women’s Intercontinental champion took offense to it. She then retorted by saying that they’re the greatest wrestling couple in history, which, as of a few years ago, could’ve been the case with Bella and the man whom she can’t see anymore. Just as Lynch said that, the crowd knew exactly what she was insinuating.
Me and my hot husband are the greatest wrestling couple of all time. But wait a minute. At one point that would’ve been you and your……Oh! oh wait. You can’t see him anymore.

The former Total Divas celebrity got flustered for a moment with fans in attendance resorting to “holy sh*t” chants over the jab. Shortly after that, the two women argued about their respective eras of wrestling, with ‘The Man’ asking Bella not to teach her about handling the current state of the women’s division. They eventually realized that they hadn’t gone one-on-one with each other, which led to ‘The Beautiful Bomber’ challenging the Irishwoman for an Intercontinental title match.

Becky tried explaining why they never had a singles match before sucker punching the Barmageddon host. ‘The Man’ quickly rolled out of the ring with an incensed Bella staring at ‘Big Time Becks’. It seems as if they’re on a collision course and may likely wrestle at the upcoming Clash in Paris PLE on August 31st, if not before.
What’s next for John Cena after catching strays on Raw?
While John Cena caught indirect strays courtesy of Becky Lynch on Raw, he’s announced for this week’s SmackDown in Montreal. On Sunday night at SummerSlam, the Peacemaker star lost his Undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes in one of the best matches he’s had in years.

‘The Cenation Leader’ even brought back his old entrance and did his iconic sprint down that aisle to the ring with cameraman Stu chasing to capture him. Cena had become a full-blown baby face and got heavily cheered over Rhodes, who, in turn, received boos while opposing ‘The Franchise Player’. These men pulled out all the stops to deliver an absolute clinic of a wrestling match and course-corrected their previous mess from WrestleMania 41.

Despite losing fair and square to ‘The American Nightmare’, Cena was extremely humble and handed over the WWE title belt to its deserving holder. Rhodes and Cena hugged it out, with the latter uttering some words of gratitude before raising the former AEW EVP’s hand to cement him as the top baby face in WWE. Before Cena could leave, a returning Brock Lesnar completely flipped the script and caused mayhem to close out SummerSlam on a cliffhanger.
John Cena and Brock Lesnar might battle it out later this month
Since John Cena is advertised to appear on three consecutive episodes of SmackDown starting from this Friday, he’s more than likely to have a match at Clash in Paris. And it’s no secret that he’ll want some answers from Brock Lesnar after the latter clocked him with an F-5 at SummerSlam. The 17-time World title holder hasn’t wrestled Lesnar since 2015.

In all likelihood, they’re on track to snap that decade-long streak very soon. As of now, it’s unclear whether ‘The Beast’ will also be on this week’s SmackDown to offer some explanation for his ambush of Cena. A number of fans are still wondering what exactly made WWE call Lesnar back amid his involvement in the ongoing Janel Grant lawsuit.

During Raw last night, Michael Cole revealed on commentary that WWE president Nick Khan and Triple H reached out to Lesnar a few weeks ago and felt it was time for him to come back.
