Conor McGregor withdrew from the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) main event with a broken toe. This leaves him as the last fighter on the active roster entitled to poke at reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. After Muhammad’s UFC 310 pullout, it means war. Now, he takes on the offensive against someone who he bills as “Conor McJunkie.”.
Muhammad’s first title defense at UFC 310 in Las Vegas (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN2, ESPN+) will have to wait. The UFC welterweight champion announced on Thursday that he has a bone infection on his foot and won’t be fighting Shavkat Rakhmonov. Muhammad’s “toe was like a balloon” comment after the 2021 TKO Mac-leg break also went viral.
McGregor, in a now-defunct tweet (go figure), posted a series of laughing emojis. ‘Remember the Name’ lambasted him for it, making him remember his nose-blow traits.
I have this for antibiotics.. you use needles because you are junkie .. we are not the same

The “not the same” diss is a viral meme for Giancarlo Esposito (Antón Castillo fame, the main antagonist of Far Cry 6). It’s not like EA Sports UFC is coming up with prime lines to borrow as disses. Subsequently, Muhammad would need many of those. He has had a rocky going with McGregor for long. The Team Valle Flow Striking current 170-pound champ also fired back when McGregor was making a welterweight return.

In June, it seemed like a “Connie comeback” would result in skipping the line to title shots. McGregor has long toyed with the idea of a trip to 170lbs to challenge for the welterweight strap. But the idea of ‘Notorious’ getting a title shot now is laughable. He is completely out of the pound-for-pound listing. But it’s all good because he’s rich, and that’s all that matters, supposedly. The Irishman is also splintering attention elsewhere.
Finish the Story…Conor McGregor stirs the pot with a ‘goodbye’ and recent WWE tease
Conor McGregor is rich—filthy rich. The Irish star has enough windfalls to last him ages and has just four UFC fights over the last eight years. He is headhunting free agency and independent contractual management. With little to achieve in combat sports, one McGregor fan suggested it was time for the power-punching Irishman to call it quits; he agreed.

‘The Notorious’ is no stranger to notorious retirement hoaxes. Having churned the cheese, he bid adieu to the infamous UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) card in 2016. Failing to return, he again called quits in 2019, fueling ‘King’ Khabib Nurmagomedov (maybe Ali Abdelaziz) to drop a ‘kiss the ring’ imagery later. He also recently teased links to TKO-sister company WWE.
Bolstering WWE-UFC ties, Cody Rhodes recently took a dip in McGregor’s famous Irish whiskey on the Schmozone Podcast (@theschmo312). Promoting WrestleMania 41, Rhodes said it’s time for the UFC superstar to dive into his own WWE sojourn. McGregor tweeted on it with a “see you soon” kind of hint.

With locking no return date, Dustin Poirier, Belal Muhammad, Islam Makhachev, and sometimes even Michael Chandler have often jibed his status down. Now, his UFC 310 diss proves that even his ‘Notorious’ notoriety is backfiring. Can he take his MMA promotional role to WWE? Will he finish his story? Will he fare better? There’s just no telling.
