Leon Edwards was supposed to fight at UFC 300, but nothing worked in his favor. He was offered three names to compete at the historic PPV. Surprisingly, Belal Muhammad was not one of them. Edward’s manager, Tim Simpson, recently spoke with Ariel Helwani and mentioned that UFC didn’t offer Muhammad as an option. Simpson respectfully mentioned that Muhammad was not a big name.
Belal Muhammad took offense at the remarks, so he went on X to express his frustration. The welterweight contender mentioned Edwards, his brother, manager, and coach, calling them ‘b*****.’ In retaliation, Leon Edwards tweeted back and threatened that everybody Muhammad mentioned could beat him in a fight.

Belal Muhammad has enough of an unbeaten streak to fight for the title. Only last year did he defeat Gilbert Burns in a potential title eliminator bout. However, the fighter always got sidelined and trolled by other fighters when asking for a title shot.
Edward’s manager also mentioned that the Brit loved the idea of fighting Muhammad and never thought of ducking him for a title fight. Muhammad was looking forward to getting a feature on UFC 300 against Edwards, but the promotion had some other plans. Only time will tell if Muhammad deserves the title shot.
Belal Muhammad claims Dana White never made any offers to Leon Edwards for UFC 300
Belal Muhammad has stated that he doesn’t think Leon Edwards received three fight offers for the UFC 300. Muhammad said that the promotion might have lied in order to help the Englishman, in contrast to what Dana White had said.
According to Muhammad, Edwards doesn’t have a good online presence and rarely promotes his fights. Furthermore, Muhammad refused to believe that the UFC offered him Islam Makhachev, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Khamzat Chimaev as potential opponents.
I don't really buy the whole, 'Oh we offered [Edwards] three fights.' I think it was more so to hype up Leon. Leon doesn't really go on social media, he doesn't do interviews, he doesn't hype himself up... If they really wanted him on UFC 300, they knew they could've called me and I would've said yesBelal Muhammad via SiriusXM
Edwards’s last fight was against Colby Covington which the fighter won via unanimous decision. However, given the current turnaround between the fighters. The promotion might use this rivalry to promote the fight. There is a rumor that a PPV is happening in England. Maybe the UFC wants to wait till the PPV happens to announce the Edwards vs. Muhammad title fight. But that’s something that the fans can only speculate on as of now.
