Ben ‘Funky’ Askren announces wrestling exhibition match with ‘Mr.Money’ Floyd Mayweather
Ben Askren has announced that he will be taking on boxing great Floyd Mayweather in a best 2 of 3 falls Wrestling exhibition, once he is done with Jake Paul. Ben Askren is scheduled to take on YouTube star Jake Paul in an eight-round pro boxing match on the 17th of April, later this year. The match marks Ben Askren’s boxing debut, with Jake Paul going into his third professional boxing bout, having made his debut last year.
Taking to Twitter, Ben Askren announced that he would be returning to his ‘roots’ – that is wrestling. He also mentioned that Floyd Mayweather has agreed to the contest, although there has been no confirmation from Mayweather’s side, publicly, so far.

Ben Askren is a highly regarded wrestler. He boasts an impressive 29-10 record in freestyle wrestling and a near-perfect 17-2 record in NCAA. He also has a ton of experience in submission grappling, losing just twice, with 12 wins. Therefore, it is safe to say, wrestling is Ben’s territory.
Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, has no professional experience, when it comes to wrestling. The only wrestling match, he has ever been a part of is – his WWE PPV bout against The Big Show at Wrestlemania 24, way back in 2008. However, it is still unclear, if Mayweather has agreed to the fight.
