Ben Shelton is ready to face Jannik Sinner in the fourth round at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Despite Sinner being in red-hot form this season, the American is confident of his chances heading into the clash.
Shelton also stated that he was not intimidated by the Italian. The 2023 US Open semifinalist said that while he was aware of Sinner’s achievements, he hoped to give his best and not worry about his opponent.

I'm very excited to face him. The successes he is achieving are impressive, I am aware that it is a complicated challenge and a great test, but I also see it as a good opportunity. I am going to go out and compete to the maximum, I trust myself and I am not afraid of anyone.Ben Shelton said at a press conference
Shelton has faced Jannik Sinner three times on the ATP tour to date. While the American managed to win in their first meeting in Shanghai last year, he has been on the losing end in their other two clashes.
Ben Shelton starting to find his feet on grass
While Ben Shelton has never had a problem playing on hard courts, he has struggled to find his best form on grass. Last year, he played three tournaments on the surface and won just two matches. This season, he went into Wimbledon with only one win on grass.

However, the 21-year-old has not let his form affect his confidence. He has dug deep in London, beating Mattia Balluci, Lloyd Harris, and Denis Shapovalov in five-setters to reach the fourth round.
It was difficult for me last year to have a good feeling on grass, but everyone tells me that my game adapts perfectly and that I can achieve great results. Now we have to bring that to reality. The truth is that in every game I play, I feel more comfortable than in the previous one, so it motivates me to continue working.Ben Shelton said (via Puntodobreak)
This is only Shelton’s second full-fledged season on the ATP tour. He has won one title this season, at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, and will be hoping to go as far as possible at Wimbledon this fortnight.
