England all-rounder Ben Stokes is expected to join his Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals in UAE tonight. He will immediately start his COVID-19 related procedures so he can get to playing as early as possible. English newspaper Mirror reported and confirmed the news saying Stokes will join the team after missing the first few games due to his father’s health problems.

“He is coming in tonight and will immediately undergo the COVID-19 related procedures before joining the rest of the unit”, the newspaper said. He will be asked to quarantine for 36 hours like the England and Australian players were, before the start of the IPL.

Huge Boost for RR

Ben Stokes

Stokes heading to the UAE will be a big boost for the Royals as they have evidently missed his exploits with both bat and ball in the middle orders. While they have won two games out of three, their middle-order has looked fragile. The likes of Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag haven’t quite performed well to give the middle-order stability. Ben Stokes’ bowling will also be a huge boost for the Royals.

Taking about RR’s balance, brand ambassador Shane Warne had spoken previously about how Ben Stokes’ arrival would make their team well-balanced saying, “Hopefully, Stokes would play a part this year, he’s a big loss and our thoughts are with him but you know add Ben Stokes to the team that played the other night and it looks a very very good side”

While Stokes will have to miss two games because of the quarantine protocols, Rajasthan Royals will be pumped to see him back and will hope he can take his side to the playoffs.
