Indian Football transfer news: Bidyashagar Singh joins Bengaluru FC in a three-year deal
As per the official statement released by Bengaluru FC, Bidyashagar Singh is all set to play for the IT capital based outfit in the 2021/22 season. After a breakthrough season in I League, Bidyashagar Singh is all set to feature in the top-tier football of India. The striker will join the team for the pre-season in Bellary. Bengaluru FC are due to play in the AFC Cup qualifiers against Eagles FC on the Independence day.
The club statement read:
Bengaluru FC have bolstered their attacking line up with the signing of Bidyashagar Singh on a three-year contract, the club announced on Wednesday.
Bengaluru FC have signed the youngster on a three-year contract. He is set to join the likes of a forward line consisting of Sunil Chettri, Ashique Kuruniyan and Udanta Singh. BFC have added the flair to their line-up after a dismal season in 2020/21.
How Bidyashagar has featured in the past?
Rising through the ranks of Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC, Bidyashagar Singh joined East Bengal in 2016. He rose to prominence when he guided his side to the U-18 I League finals. He scored six goals in the campaign including semifinals and finals. The striker was rewarded for his performances and was called up for the senior side. He featured for the first time in Durand Cup in 2019.
However, the player returned to TRAU FC in August 2020 after both parties failed to reach the conclusion. For TRAU FC, Bidyashagar Singh scored 12 goals that included two hattricks. He also lead the team to the title change only to see his side ending as the third best side in the league.

After penning a contract with Bengaluru FC, the Manipuri boy was elated. To BFCTv, he said:

I am eager to improve and to contribute to helping this team to continue the winning legacy that it has established. I know that I am surrounded by so many great players like Sunil bhai and Gurpreet bhai, and I want to learn from them and develop further The opportunity to play for Bengaluru FC has arrived at the right time for me. Being in good form is very important for a striker and I would like to continue my good run here. My aim is to win trophies and to wear this club’s jersey with pride. I also want to do well here so that I can make it into our national team
