Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC have announced the signing of Danish Farooq on a two-year deal from I-League club Real Kashmir FC.
Danish Farooq started his senior career with Lonestar Kashmir FC and played 16 games for the club between 2015/16. He then joined Real Kahsmir FC in 2016 and made 65 appearances for the club until the end of I-League 2021. The 25-year-old scored 11 goals for the Kashmir-based club.
He will don the blue jersey and will joins the Blues ahead of their AFC Cup campaign.
“BFC is one of the best clubs in the country, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of it. My immediate challenge is to do well in the AFC Cup and the Indian Super League. My ultimate goal is to achieve success with the club and to grow as a player,” said Danish.
“Having played with Real Kashmir for five years, I am glad to know that Bengaluru FC was monitoring my progress. When I got a call from my agent, who told me that BFC was interested in signing me, we felt it was the best option for me to grow as both a player and to showcase my talent at the highest level,” added Danish.
How did Danish Farooq fare for Real Kashmir FC in I-League 2020/21?
Danish played 14 matches for Real Kasmhir FC last season. The attacking midfielder found the net thrice last year. He scored once each against Indian Arrows, TRAU FC & Mohammedan SC. The Indian player also assisted to a goal once last season agaisnt NEROCA FC.
He captained the Kashmir-based outfit thrice in the 2020/21 edition of the I-League.
