For New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, losing last season to an Achilles injury was already tough on him. But his recovery at this age has ended up being an inspiration to many who have suffered similar struggles.

More recently, legendary golfer and Masters winner Bernhard Langer suffered an Achilles injury and paid homage to Rodgers for inspiring him to return to the circuit swiftly. While talking about his recovery, the 66-year-old had quite a few words to say about Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah, I got his contact information at the Masters and actually from Andy North. A few days later, I was able to talk to him for about 45 minutes. He had the same injury and the same surgery, he just had it done in L.A.

The two-time Masters winner said that the New York Jets superstar mentioned to him about some exercises and how hard it is to come back that fast. Langer confirmed that he knows now how difficult some of those rehabilitation exercises can be.

Bernhard Langer was hoping to make this year’s Masters his final one while on the PGA Tour. However, in February of this year, he tore his Achilles tendon while exercising, seemingly ending his chance at his farewell.

Now, thanks to the former MVP, Langer is back on his two feet and is waiting for the doctors to give him the green signal. After all, just like Rodgers, Langer is a prime competitor and wants to perform on the biggest stage before he hands up his clubs.

The 4-time NFL MVP has already started training to be 100% fit for the new season. Putting in reps with lead wideout Garrett Wilson in a private environment shows that he is raring to go. But it must have put a smile on his face when seeing what GM Joe Douglas has done to put him in a better position to win a Super Bowl.

Starting with off-season additions to solidify the offensive line was a big win. After all, it was the biggest concern for them last season. Then they added standout wide receiver Mike Williams to play opposite Wilson. Additions to the pass rush were also a bold move considering the need to improve their defense. Douglas’ moves in the Draft also ensure that Aaron Rodgers enters the season on a positive note.

His injury last season helped his team analyze problems on the roster and fix them this time around. Ensuring that the New York Jets enter the season with nothing less than a Super Bowl in their sights.
