BJ Penn is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars when it comes to UFC veterans and former lightweight world champions. The retired fighter had a legendary run and dominated several dangerous opponents during his prime years inside the Octagon. However, now at the age of 46, Penn is struggling with serious personal problems and emotional setbacks in life.

Previously, Penn has made disturbing claims that his family members were replaced by lookalike impostors. He alleges his mother and brothers were murdered, and the people currently around him are clones or surgically altered strangers. Recently, with an Instagram post, Penn has openly reached out and wants UFC CEO Dana White to help him through this situation.

This message is for Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta. I need your help. I’ve been pushed out. This is the house I grew up in. I’ve lived here my whole life. I fought in the UFC, became a world champion, and all that stuff. I’m kicked out of the house. An army moved into all of these houses. I need your help. They’ve got me staying over here in a studio. If I go anywhere near the house up there to get my dogs or anything else, I’ll be arrested — just think about it. No one’s here to help me.

Penn believed there were physical differences in his mother’s features, like her teeth, ears, freckles, and chin, that proved she was fake. He even approached a judge to demand DNA tests and government-verified identification of the woman claiming to be his mother. The court denied his request, citing a lack of legal basis and potential psychological concern over his extreme accusations.

Penn’s mother, Lorraine Shin, responded by filing a temporary restraining order, claiming she’s endured emotional abuse inside her house. She alleged Penn locked her out of rooms, changed door locks, removed furniture, and blocked access to basic home utilities.

His mother also claimed the veteran suffers from Capgras syndrome, a rare mental disorder where one believes family members or familiar people have been replaced with imposters.

In court, Penn has insisted he’s mentally stable and only concerned about the well-being and safety of his “real” family. He recently pleaded not guilty in a criminal case and awaits trial on July 2, related to charges of abuse. A hearing in his family court case is scheduled for August 12, where more information may come to light.

Fight fans react to BJ Penn’s recent disturbing Instagram post

BJ Penn has been talking about this for a long time now, with regular posts about asking for lawyers to fight his case. Doctors and experts familiar with his behavior suspect his delusions could stem from traumatic brain injuries sustained during his fighting career

Some have also speculated about substance abuse or chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) from years of head trauma in MMA competition. Nevertheless, here are some reactions to his latest post on social media.

As expected, many fans showed concern after watching a legendary fighter like BJ Penn make such absurd claims. Others mentioned how these are nothing but signs of CTE, something which is very common in veteran UFC fighters. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see whether the UFC or Dana White makes any response after Penn’s latest request.
