Robert Whittaker does not believe Bo Nickal deserves to be on the UFC 300 main card. Rather, the former champion believes the UFC is cultivating Nickal because of his popularity among the audience. He also made his prediction for Nickal’s fight against Cody Brundage.

Robert Whittaker recently sat down for an interview on the MMArcade Podcast on YouTube. In one of its segments, he went into the conversation about Bo Nickal fighting in the main card only five fights into his MMA career. 

I don't know how this happened. They've snuck this in. They've done dirty to the other guys. Bo Nickal's getting cultivated hard! Look at the names he's fighting. Look at the periods in which he's fighting and the areas in which he's fighting.

Whittaker does not believe Bo Nickal’s resume justifies him being positioned on the main card for UFC 300. However, he does not have any problem with it whatsoever, as Whittaker pointed out that it happens in every sport. Rather, Whittaker believes Bo Nickal deserves the hype he is getting. The former champion is sure that Nickal would easily overcome Cody Brundage and declare him his pick for the fight.

The Reaper sang the praises of Nickal highlighting that he has boxed his entire life and said his wrestling was phenomenal. On the other hand, he described Brundage in as little as an “eh”. According to Whittaker, Cody Brundage has not earned his respect in terms of mixed martial arts yet.

What does Bo Nickal have to say about being on the UFC 300 main card?

A lot of people have been saying a lot of things regarding Bo Nickal being on the UFC 300 main card. But what does Bo Nickal himself have to say about this? Nickal has just two fights under his belt in the UFC. This is why a lot of people have thrown shade towards him and the UFC for choosing Nickal over other fighters.

Bo Nickal addressed this issue on UFC 300’s media day. He told reporters that he is simply glad to be able to fight at such a large scale. 

I didn't expect it. I think that it's a big honor for me to be where I'm at on the card... I feel like it says a lot about me, about the UFC and our plans, and I think they align. I'm just grateful to be where I'm at, and grateful to have this platform to go do my thing.

Nickal expressed that he appreciated the opportunity and also acknowledged the other talent fights on the fight card and the UFC roster. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the octagon this April against Cody Brundage at the T-Mobile arena in Paradise, Nevada.
