Bo Nix made an intriguing revelation ahead of the Denver Broncos’ week 11 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos’ second-year quarterback admitted that he stopped browsing through social media platforms to block out the negativity hurled at him by unhinged fans.
Nix has taken plenty of heat despite the Broncos sitting at 8-2 and atop the AFC West. It’s fair to say that the defense has carried much of the load. In their 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, for instance, the defense got to Geno Smith six times on 29 pressures, pushing their season sack total to 46. (14 more than the next best Seattle Seahawks).
If readers think Smith was bad, then Nix capped off the game with 16 completions for 150 yards, 2 interceptions, averaged 5.4 yards per throw, and a 54.2 quarterback rating. For context, Smith had a quarterback rating of 60.3.
That fixture in Vegas wasn’t a one-off game. Nix has been like this the entire year. Fans want their favorite team to win games, but they also don’t want to rely on the last field goal to secure all the points every week. This breeds frustration, and the first player in line of sight is usually the quarterback.
The biggest pushback came from football pundits who believe that Nix is holding the Broncos back. However, the 25-year-old found a way to block the outside noise to focus on winning games. Nix said from the Broncos facility:
We make this entertainment business a lot bigger than what it is, and we forget everybody is just out here having a good time, having fun, doing the best they can. For me, it’s quite simple. I delete [deleted] my social media; I don’t have it, so unless somebody says it to my face, I don’t really hear it — and nobody is ever bold enough to say it to your face. I don’t get on social media.

The Broncos open as betting underdogs against the Chiefs this Sunday. If Nix were in peak form, Vegas might have shown a bit more confidence in the Denver franchise.
Bo Nix is dragging the Broncos’ offense down?
After leading the Broncos to a 10-7 finish rookie season, many thought Sean Payton had found his franchise player. While it’s too early to pass judgment on the former Auburn and Oregon starter, his performances have left a lot to be desired.

Payton drafted Nix, not for him to be a poor game manager; he envisioned future Hall of Famer Drew Brees in him. On the surface, his numbers are solid: 2,126 passing yards (7dth in the NFL), 18 touchdowns (tied for 2nd). However, the underlying stats tell a different story.
Nix, who completed 66% of his passes in his rookie season, is averaging 60.9%, has thrown eight interceptions, and his QBR (54.9) ranks 19th in 2025. To make matters worse, he ranks near the bottom of the league in accuracy on throws beyond 10 yards. These are clear indications that he has regressed.
On throws over 10 yards, Bo Nix has an off target rate of 39% which is 32nd among QBs.

When Bo Nix is in a clean pocket, he's still off target 37% of the time, which also 32nd. https://t.co/mbSejDF7EY pic.twitter.com/DRgHVMvmBd
A team that is as talented as the Broncos should not struggle to score against a Raiders team with just two wins all year. Nix must fix his game quickly; otherwise, the Chiefs might take advantage.
