Shane McMahon announced the WWE Championship match

The latest episode of WWE Raw featured the fallout from the WWE Elimination Chamber. The episode mainly revolved around WWE Champion The Miz and Bobby Lashley. While The Miz becoming the Champion received mixed reactions from the WWE Universe, but his reign managed to bring in higher viewership.

This is the second week in a row that Raw’s viewership has increased. With WWE on the Road to Wrestlemania, this is an encouraging sign for the company. According to Showbuzz Daily, WWE Raw brought in 1.889 million viewers, rising from week’s 1.810 million viewers.

Despite an increase in the total viewership, WWE Raw did not manage to hit 2 million viewers in any of the 3 hours. But it continued to lose viewers throughout. The show started with 1.978 million viewers, but ended the night with 1.765 million viewers.

The Miz – Bobby Lashley feud

Lashley and Miz

At WWE Elimination Chamber, Bobby Lashley attacked Drew McIntyre, to ensure that The Miz successfully cashed in his MITB contract. The Miz had promised MVP that Lashley would be the first one to get  a shot at the WWE title, if he helped The Miz.

The Raw episode kicked off with Miz celebrating his win. He was interrupted by Lashley, who gave him a one-hour ultimatum to fight him. Braun Strowman too demanded a shot at the title. As a result, Shane McMahon decided that the WWE Championship match will take place next week on Raw.

But, a match between Strowman and Lashley was announced. If Strowman won he would’ve been added to the Championship match. But he lost the match and now The Miz will be defending his title against Bobby Lashley.
