Last year on July 24, Vince McMahon was reported to have escaped tragedy even after being involved in a horrific road accident. TMZ Sports provided the details in which they said that McMahon’s Bentley was traveling northbound on Route 15 in Westport at over 100 mph when it crashed into a BMW 430.
The bodycam footage obtained by The US Sun shows that Mr. McMahon’s car slammed into the guardrail after rear-ending the BMW. A Connecticut State Trooper approached the former WWE CEO and inquired why McMahon was speeding at almost 115 mph.
The XFL founder revealed he was going to attend his granddaughter’s birthday. McMahon also denied absconding from the scene, saying he hadn’t driven his vehicle in a very long time. ‘Vinnie Mac’ cursed at himself out of disgust while handing over the insurance and registration papers to the state trooper.

The 80-year-old business magnate refused to be crippled with any sort of mental condition when asked. McMahon apologized to the woman whose BMW he rammed into after stepping out of his damaged Bentley, which was eventually towed away. Vince McMahon was ultimately charged with reckless driving through misdemeanor summons.
The ex-head of WWE creative also got told that he would have to appear in court in August. A couple of months later, McMahon was given the option to enter a pretrial program with a $1000 donation to charity as ruled by a judge.
McMahon could only continue driving if properly licensed and insured, and the charges levied on him would get dismissed in a year should he complete the aforementioned program.
Janel Grant shoots on Vince McMahon in her first public appearance discussing her ordeal
It’s been over two years since a former WWE employee sued Vince McMahon in January 2024. She’s none other than Janel Grant, who recently made her first public appearance since she went ahead with the filing of her federal civil complaint against the former WWE head honcho. She said at the aforementioned briefing that she didn’t want to proceed with it because of what Ms. Grant was about to go through.

The ex-WWE paralegal asserted that she was dragged into an NDA from McMahon, which she claimed was used to conceal dangerous behavior. Grant said that the non-disclosure agreement wielded coercive control over her. Grant further added that McMahon made her sign it so that he could justify his wrongdoings while she was left vulnerable for further exploitation.

The said victim also clarified that WWE did reach out to her after the Wall Street Journal’s July 2022 reporting to cajole her into a joint statement. The company wanted Grant to label her ties with Vince McMahon consensual, which she outright refused. It meant WWE deemed the relationship that way despite Grant’s stern take on the situation.
Grant was even asked to not go public about her grievances, as the federal agencies told her that their investigation, in conjunction with WWE, was covert. She was under the impression that she would be interviewed for the investigation until the feds requested her to not make any comments on the probe.
As of now, there are no criminal charges on Vince McMahon. He did reimburse WWE its $1.3 million and paid $400,000 in civil penalty to the SEC stemming from the previously undisclosed settlement payments. But as far as the Janel Grant lawsuit is concerned, the federal agencies haven’t publicly said anything on whether her complaints were also taken into account.
