Becky Lynch won the Women’s World Championship on Monday Night Raw. This decision by WWE was met with mixed reception from the internet wrestling community. While some fans are upset with the decision, several superstars have come out in support of the Irish, including WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
The former WWE Champion recently spoke about this situation on his Hall of Fame podcast. He said that being a champion in the WWE is a full-time responsibility. Booker explained how one must be ready to go at any time in the blink of an eye. Hence, the Stamford-based company knows that they could trust somebody like The Man. Lynch has repeatedly proven herself when it comes to having the qualities of a champion.
Booker T added that if fans wish to consider someone with no flaws for the championship, it must be the Irish lass herself. He pointed out that a superstar like Roxanne Perez can sit under the ‘Becky Lynch’ learning tree all day, and she will never run out of things to learn from Big Time Becks.
You talking about somebody who don’t have any flaws? That’s Becky. You talking about someone who works so much bigger than she actually really is? That’s Becky.

Despite some fan backlash, the 59-year-old remained adamant that WWE had made the right call. He believed that after Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the title, awarding the Women’s World Championship to the 2019 Royal Rumble winner made the most sense. Having said that, it will be interesting to see how long Lynch holds on to the title.
Mick Foley helped Becky Lynch overcome her struggles with her book
On the Chris Van Vliet podcast, Becky Lynch recently spoke about the challenges she faced while writing her book. She mentioned having to be extremely careful, accurate, and considerate while writing about other talents. The Man claimed that she could not absent-mindedly write about her fellow co-workers. Furthermore, anything related to the WWE was handled with great care.
The Man added that the people she wrote about were constantly in the public eye. Thus, it was important that she presented them in a manner that was honest. One of the people who helped her overcome these struggles was WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley.
The Hardcore Legend advised the Irish wrestler to avoid using her book to get back at somebody. The 58-year-old further added that her book should never be used as a revenge tour. Foley explained it by expressing it would be unfair for her to paint anybody as the villain, especially when they could not respond.
Anything with WWE needed to be handled with great care. I don’t think you can absent-mindedly write about people in the public eye.
