Bobby Lashley is looking to explore his options after his contract recently expired with WWE. The 48-year-old may be taking a break from wrestling together and preparing to enter the world of boxing. Prior to his entry into the field, Booker T had some advice for the wrestling veteran.
Lashley has already announced that he has lined up a boxing match in Las Vegas. However, his opponent’s name has not yet been announced. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that he should avoid boxing Jake Paul unless he wants to get knocked out. The social media star has been 10-1 throughout his boxing career. Seven of these matches were won with a knockout blow.
Lashley has been an MMA fighter in the past, with a highly impressive record of 15-2-0. Although he must have practiced boxing during training, he has no specialized training in that sport. The former WWE Champion is undoubtedly much bigger in size. However, fans have often seen that size is not a significant advantage when it comes to the world of boxing.
I like Bobby, but if you want to go get knocked out, go fight Jake Paul. Doesn’t matter [that he’s bigger] one bit. [Lashley is] older, slower, as well as he hasn’t been training to be a boxer. Boxing is not something you play, as real as it possible could be. If I was advising Bobby Lashley, I would advise him, ‘Bro. Do something else.’
Booker T on Hall of Fame podcast
Booker T said that the 48-year-old was much older and slower than Paul in the ring, who is only 27 at the moment. Thus, he advised Lashley to go do something else. There are already rumors that the former TNA Champion will soon be going to AEW, which could potentially be a great change for his career.
Bobby Lashley talks about his future plans after WWE exit
Bobby Lashley is not limiting himself only to the boxing world. He wishes to enter numerous other arenas in the future. Speaking on The Bo and Them show, he said that he had a lot of gas left in the tank and wanted to make the most of his life.
Not only did he want to continue wrestling, but he also wanted to continue his stint in MMA and even get into acting. On top of that, he is working for his non-profit organization, helping needy kids. He wished to give back to the world.
I do a lot of real estate. I’ve been linking with some real estate professionals (in Texas) to bring some of my properties here and doing work here. Wrestling, I still want to wrestle. I love wrestling. The fans are writing me every day, ‘When are you coming back? Where are you going? We want to be there for you.’ I love the fans.
