Carlos Alcaraz is a four-time Grand Slam champion and in 2022 became the youngest man (19 years, 4 months, and 6 days old) and the first male teenager in the Open Era to be ranked World No. 1. He has been in a hurry to achieve many milestones since breaking out.
At the China Open on Sunday (September 29), Alcaraz defeated Tallon Griekspoor 6-1, 6-2 in the second round. The win, which sealed his spot in the quarterfinals, was his 200th on the ATP Tour. Interestingly, Alcaraz’s 100th win also came against Griekspoor, at Indian Wells in 2023.
Boris Becker, who was ranked World No. 1 for 12 weeks in his career, is among the many legends of the game to record 200 wins on the men’s circuit. After Alcaraz achieved the feat in eight fewer matches, the German took to social media to react to his accomplishment.

Besides 200 wins on the ATP Tour, Alcaraz has just 52 career losses to date, giving him a 79 percent winning percentage. Among the 29 men ranked World No. 1 to date, the Spaniard is the second fastest to achieve the record. The only former World No. 1 to have recorded 200 wins on the ATP Tour faster than Alcaraz is John McEnroe, who achieved it in seven fewer matches.
Confident Carlos Alcaraz says he is looking for ‘the third hundred’
Carlos Alcaraz is just the third player born in the 2000s, after Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime, to achieve 200 wins on the ATP Tour. After beating Tallon Griekspoor in Beijing, the World No. 3 stated that while he was delighted to reach the milestone, he already has his eyes on reaching the 300 mark.
Alcaraz, who won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics, has a 45-9 win-loss record this season. He has won three titles so far — Indian Wells, French Open, and Wimbledon. In his quest to add the China Open title to his list, the 21-year-old is set to face seventh seed Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals.
