Winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk will meet the winner of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 next
Joshua tweeted, “September 25th I will step down from my throne to engage in battle.”
Joshua is coming off a win over Kubrat Pulev in December 2020. He knocked the Bulgarian out in the 9th round of the fight to successfully defend his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles. The win also earned him a title-unification shot against Tyson Fury. They were really close to fighting when an arbitrator intervened and ruled that Fury must face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout.
Oleksandr Usyk, on the other hand, is coming off a win over Dereck Chisora which was only his second bout in the heavyweight division. The Ukrainian is still undefeated in his professional boxing career after reigning as the undisputed king in the cruiserweight division.
