Oleksandr Usyk will be fighting in Anthony Joshua’s home country. Their fight is set to be held in the home of football club Tottenham Hotspur FC, which has a seating capacity of almost 62,000. The fight is expected to take place in September, later this year.
This isn’t the first time Anthony Joshua is being scheduled to fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He had been scheduled previously to fight Kubrat Pulev last year at the same stadium, before it was moved to the Wembley Arena due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Oleksandr Usyk is unbeaten in his professional boxing career!
Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian, is a tough nut to crack. The former undisputed cruiserweight champion reigned supreme as the first cruiserweight in history to hold all four major world championships. After conquering the cruiserweight division to the fullest, he moved to the heavyweight division in 2019, where he faced Chazz Witherspoon. Usyk beat Witherspoon and then followed it up with a victory over Derek Chisora in 2020.
Joshua, on the other hand, is coming off a victory over Kubrat Pulev in December 2020, at the Wembley Arena. He won the fight via. knockout in the 9th round.
When will the world get to see Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury?
Hardly a month ago, Joshua’s fight with Tyson Fury was made official. However, things went south very quickly after an arbitrator ruled that Fury must face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout. And hence, Fury is set to face Wilder next month on the 24th of July at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
If Fury manages to beat Wilder and Joshua beats Usyk, a showdown between Fury and Joshua would be inevitable.
