“Don’t take a guy like him lightly,” Bob Arum on talking for heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s next big fight

Bob Arum- Tyson Fury
It’s official, World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has to defend his current belt before heading for more belts at the heavyweight division. The news is confirmed by Fury’s promoter Bob Arum. Arum promotes Fury in the US.
Fury came off winning and coming out 2-1 in his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder. Fury is now the WBC as well as Ring Magazine’s heavyweight champion. Both Wilder and Fury, through their trilogy, have made history as many people felt the fighters brought the sport of boxing back to the golden days. As Wilder sits back processing and working on what’s next for him, Fury has a fight ahead as a champion as he is now bestowed with the responsibility of defending his titles.
What boxing promoter Bob Arum had to say on Tyson Fury’s next opponent

Tyson Fury is now ordered by the WBC to defend his heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte who’s now the rightful next in line for the title shot because the latter is also WBC’s interim heavyweight champion.
Bob Arum, Fury’s US-Based promoter, told Sky Sports “Why wouldn’t Fury respect Whyte? Heavyweights throw bombs. If he doesn’t respect him, he’ll be in a lot of trouble. Fury is enough of a professional, and a great fighter, and he knows that you don’t take a guy like Whyte lightly.”

“[Fury’s UK-based promoter] Frank Warren talked [on Wednesday] to Tyson who wants to get in the ring in February or March,” revealed Arum. We are talking to Whyte now to come to an arrangement to put the fight on in the UK. It will be a splendid fight and we are working hard to put it together.”
As far as targeting the rest of the boxing’s heavyweight titles which include WBA, IBF, and WBO’s titles, Arum believes the undisputed title fight against the winner of the rematch between Anthony Joshua and current WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will most probably take place in late 2022. However, Arum is still not looking past the magnitude of the fight that Fury has to face against Whyte right now.
“It will be wonderful. He has made such a name for himself in the United States that people mistake him for being an American! He is Americanised. He has a home in Las Vegas. He is an open personality. People are attracted to him, they love him. He has done a great job of capturing the American market,” said Arum.
What do you think about the match-up between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte, who do you think gets the win? Also, who do you think wins the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk as well?
