“He would beat Fury,” Deontay Wilder’s trainer on why Tyson Fury is “easier to hit” now
Deontay Wilder and Malik Scott- Tyson Fury
Deontay Wilder may have lost the historic heavyweight trilogy to Tyson Fury but at last he has his name tied forever to one of the greatest rivalries of 21st century combat sports. Wilder seems to be on a break as of now as the knockout artist has made nearly no public appearances since his trilogy fight with Fury. However, things for Fury on the other hand seem to be complicated to decide for who should fight him next.
For Fury, either a WBC title unification match with the interim champion Dillian Whyte or an undisputed title unification match with Oleksandr Usyk is on the line for “The Gypsy King,” however the fights aren’t finalised yet. Meanwhile, Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott, is on the media radar these days.
Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott breaks down Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury
In a recent interview by EsNews with Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott, Scott gave a breakdown of Usyk vs Fury in which he first claimed “Just to be very clear, it’s not coming from a hateful place or anything like here because I’m a man of logic.”
He then continued “I believe the Fury that fought Wladimir Klitschko…that fought Deontay Wilder the first time, gives Usyk all kinds of fits. The movement, reflexes. This Fury right now, Usyk would beat… This Fury is easier to hit than any Fury before.” Scott proceeded to talk about how Usyk’s counter-punching can put pressure on Fury because of Fury’s recent change of styles in which he likes to come forward and put weight and pressure on his opponents just like he did in the second and last fight with Wilder.
What do you make of this point made by Wilder’s trainer, as well as former opponent Malik Scott? Who do you think should Wilder return against as his comeback fight? Who do you think wins between Fury and Usyk? For news and a good idea, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn wants to see Wilder return against heavyweight Derek Chisora, who’s coming off a loss to Joseph Parker, how about that?
