Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury
Although, Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury hasn’t been made official, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has been toiling behind the scenes to put all pieces together. The fight will mostly take place during the second week of August, according to latest reports. It is expected to be held in Saudi Arabia.
More recently, Hearn provided further update about the fight. He revealed that the organizers are looking to build a new stadium and create something very very special for a fight of such magnitude. Hearn then said how they had already done something similar before during the ‘Clash on the Dunes’, Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua in 2019.
‘They have indoor options’ – Eddie Hearn
The Matchroom Boxing CEO assured that the organizers are hoping to create something that will amaze everyone, in a recent interview with SkySports.
Eddie Hearn was quoted as saying, “They want to build a new stadium. They have indoors options. In August at 11pm it will be about 23 degrees. They want to create something very, very special. Last time they built a stadium for the Andy Ruiz Jr fight in just seven weeks and it held 18,000. [via SkySports]
He then said, “This will be a similar set-up. They have the opportunity to hold it indoors but they want to create something that will shock the world. They want to build a stadium just for this fight.” [via SkySports]
AJ vs Fury is inevitable!
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been growing pretty impatient with the way the negotiations have been moving. Even the boxing community have been expressing their disappointment at the delay. Rest assured, the fight is inevitable, it will surely take place.
Joshua is coming off a victory against Kubrat Pulev in December, last year and has been putting in the hard yards of late. Meanwhile, Fury has been spending his time sparring in Las Vegas. His last fight was against Deontay Wilder in February 2020.
