How much did Canelo Alvarez earn for Creed III cameo?

Throughout his time in the ring, Canelo Alvarez has fought the best of the best and accumulated a record of 59 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws. The Mexican boxer was placed number one in the pound-for-pound rankings before his loss to Dmitry Bivol. Despite his defeat, Canelo came back strong and earned a dominant win against long-time opponent GGG. Alvarez also went on to prove he still owns the super middleweight division after his recent win over the British boxer, John Ryder.

Due to Canelo’s huge success in the world of boxing, he was also approached by Hollywood. Alvarez made his acting debut recently in the movie Creed 3, starring superstar Michael B. Jordan. The movie is the third installment in the Creed series of the Rocky Balboa universe. With Canelo Alvarez gaining immense success and riches through his boxing career, it is only fair to question how much did the Mexican boxer charge for his appearance in the movie.

Canelo Alvarez’s role in Creed III

Canelo Alvarez made his acting debut under the direction of Michael B. Jordan in his latest, Creed III. Jordan was also the one who insisted on the Mexican boxer play a role in his movie and has highly praised Canelo’s acting skills. “It was great, Canelo was awesome. He was really humble and sweet and nice. He and his wife were there and it was a great time,” said Michael B. Jordan in an interview.

Jordan also stated that Canelo Alvarez took time out of his training camp to feature in the movie. He is seen portraying himself and appears at the red carpet event with Adonis Creed’s family. While his appearance in the movie was for a very short amount of time, Canelo made sure he was getting his worth for every second. The movie amassed a huge $275 million worldwide collection and became a blockbuster in theaters.

Many fans predicted Canelo to have a far more important role in the movie, after his appearance in the trailer. Yet fans had to settle with a small cameo in a movie with 1hr and 57 minutes of run time. While Alvarez had a small role, he was paid surprisingly well for his brief stint in the movie.

According to numerous reports, the undisputed super middleweight champion made around $1 million for his appearance in the movie. This might not sound like a lot compared to his earnings from prizefighting in the ring. However, it is a huge amount for a role that barely had 10 seconds of screen time in the movie.
