“Clearly a natural talent”- Jake Paul claims Oscar De La Hoya is right to believe he can beat world champions

Jake Paul was introduced to the sport of boxing from the world of celebrity boxing but he has established himself in the sport. Wins over former MMA legend Ben Askren and beating 4-time UFC world champion Tryon Woodly have garnered him a lot of respect in the boxing community.
Recently, Oscar De La Hoya, a 6-time boxing champion was asked about Paul, to which he replied, “Let me tell you one thing about Jake Paul. He’s the real deal. I’m gonna tell you that, with only four or five fights, and the way he’s taking it serious.”
“Jake is the real deal. And I dare anyone who has boxing experience who has MMA experience to call him out, ’cause I’ll tell you one thing, this guy can beat a lot of good champions, and even great champions. He’s on his way to becoming a contender, and he’s on his way to becoming a world contender, then a world champion,” Oscar concluded.

In an interview with TMZ, a reporter asked Jake his thoughts on De La Hoya’s claims. To which Jake Paul was very pleased to hear, as he looked up to the boxing legend growing up. Furthermore, he asserts that his claims are indeed true and he already has beat up boxing world champions in the gym.
“To hear that from [De La Hoya] means a lot, but he’s right and I’ve been saying it all along. I sound so cocky, ‘he’s right!’, but it’s true man. I beat world champions in the gym and sparring,” Paul says. “Two years as a professional and I’m already doing that, it’s clearly a natural talent that I have, a natural power that I have and I work my a** off. People don’t really see that.”

There have been some speculations that the next potential opponent of Jake Paul would be Chavez Jr. It is an interesting matchup, considering that an opponent of this level of experience and skill set is rare to find in the opponents of Jake Paul. Needless to say, it would be very exciting to witness how fair he is against opponents with substantial boxing pedigree.
