Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Jake Paul might be in the books

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. spoke up about the recently concluded Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley fight and also about the challenge that Paul put up for the Brazilian ex-middleweight champion.

The Paul vs Woodley fight did not have anything special going on up to the 6th round and was very uneventful, but in the 6th round, things started to get intense. At one point, Woodley dropped his guard and Jake Paul landed a killer right hook right onto his face, knocking him out cold.

Tyron Woodley faced intense criticism for lowering his defensive stance just before Jake Paul moved in for the kill. Many say it was intentional, many say Paul faked out Woodley, what exactly happened, no one knows. The win gave Paul a lot of confidence and he went on to call out former middleweight division champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Chavez, who lost to Anderson Silva in July of 2021, found redemption in his victory against David Zegarra this weekend. Riding on a victory high, he has decided to accept the call-out from Jake Paul and also forego his earnings if he loses.

“I’ll retire if I lose,” Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is risking his career against the matchup

I can only talk about myself, not about other people, I am not here to criticize anyone. I talk by analyzing boxing. I hope I can get a few million with Jake Paul. If he beats me, I’ll retire, I don’t get paid. I don’t want money if I don’t beat him. Retirement – not interested in his money if I do not win,” he said.

“People want me to beat him, Jake Paul is strong and he knows how to organize the fights well at his weight, it would be a matter of reaching an agreement. The Pauls generate a lot of expectations and money, a match with me would be good. They haven’t learned how to fight well and I can take advantage of that. Jake Paul can punch, but he’s not a boxer,” said the pumped-up Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
