The combat sports world was shocked and yet made predictions for an unexpected fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. Both Paul and Tyson have begun to promote their fight through various sources. As such, UFC legend Chael Sonnen has given his opinion about Tyson’s recent training video. In the video, the 57-year-old heavyweight legend can be seen impressively hitting the pads.
Even though Tyson has long retired, he has still been training and often posts videos of him hitting the pads or heavybags. However, the recent video was posted to announce that he has commenced training camp for the fight. In the brief video, we can see Tyson hit the pads aggressively and explosively. This gave fans a glimpse of his prime. While most of the combat sports world was left in awe, Sonnen was not.
If you’re ever going to spend five seconds hitting mitts, as a way of making the audience believe you’re doing a training session, make sure you splash water on your face and T-shirt first.

Sonnen did not mince any of his words while claiming that Tyson’s training video is a fake. According to Chael Sonnen, the heavyweight legend only hit the pads for 5 seconds and uploaded the video to show that he is training. Furthermore, Sonnen justified this claim by pointing out that Tyson’s face and shirt are not sweaty at all.
Hence, for the UFC legend, the video is not a glimpse at his training but rather a performance to show that he is training. However, there is no doubt that the former heavyweight champ is impressively physically fit for his age mainly because of his impressive workout routine during his prime.
Andrew Tate’s opinion on fighting Mike Tyson
The last time Mike Tyson entered a ring was his exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Subsequently, Paul made his debut in boxing in the same year, and nobody expected that the two would ever share the ring. This notion is further perpetuated since they have a massive 30-year age gap between them.

Hence, this has caused people to express their concern for Tyson’s well-being and boxing legacy. Furthermore, Paul has also received significant criticism for agreeing to fight the 57-year-old heavyweight legend. Andrew Tate once stated that no amount of money would convince him to fight Tyson at his current age.
Tate is a four-time kickboxing champion and is confident that he would defeat Tyson inside the ring. However, Tate stated that he would never agree to the fight. This is because he belives it would be unfair and sad to defeat the legend.
