Francis Ngannou will fight Tyson Fury in his professional boxing debut in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 28. Ngannou excited the world with his sudden transition into the boxing world. Subsequently, Ngannou also recruited Mike Tyson as his trainer for this fight.
Recently, during an interview, the interviewer asked American rapper Action Bronson for his predictions for the Fury vs. Ngannou fight. Subsequently, Bronson stated that he thought Ngannou would win the fight via knockout. Furthermore, Ronson said, “Wilder wasn’t f***kin killed Tyson Fury. He rose like an undertaker. Ngannou hits him; he is not getting up, trust me.” In addition, Bronson mentioned how Ngannou quickly took out Alistair Overeem in UFC 218.
Bronson stated that Overeem was the best kickboxer in the division with a history of failed drug tests, but Ngannou easily knocked him out. Furthermore, during his time in the UFC, Ngannou garnered the infamous reputation of being a hard puncher in the company. Subsequently, in his UFC career, he won 17 matches, lost three times, and won 13 matches via knockout.
The interviewer told Bronson that many wouldn’t agree with his opinion and felt Ngannou wouldn’t land any solid punches. However, Branson stated that Fury was big and didn’t move well inside the ring. Many fans believe that Mike Tyson himself will polish Ngannou’s power and make him even more dangerous. However, Fury is the most technical boxer of this generation and could present trouble for the former UFC fighter.
Tyson Fury’s next opponent after Francis Ngannou
Many fans were disappointed after they heard about the cross-over boxing event announcement, as they expected Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk. Negotiations between Fury and Usyk’s camp were ongoing for quite some time until they abruptly ended in April.
Fury last fought against Derek Chisora in December 2022 and Dillian Whyte in April 2023 to defend his WBC belt. Subsequently, Usyk holds the WBO, WBA, and IBF belts he won from Anthony Joshua in 2021. People consider the heavyweight division stagnant, and Usyk and Fury should have a unification bout to make sense. Reports indicate that negotiation talks had emerged before Fury’s fight with Ngannou.
After Usyk fought Daniel Dubois recently, Fury has become less interested in him and does not consider Usyk a challenge. Furthermore, he has been hinting at a potential retirement by stating that his time as an active boxer is ending.
