“Come down to 126”- Jake Paul calls upon Katie Taylor to offer Amanda Serrano a fight at her weight class
Katie Taylor and Jake Paul
Jake Paul challenges Katie Taylor to come down to flyweight and fight Amanda Serrano in order to make good money. Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano locked horns at Madison Square Garden and the fight had amazing hype around it. Fortunately, the fight lived up to the expectations and it turned out pretty entertaining.
The fight was extremely close with both the fighters going back and forth at each other. In the end, Taylor was announced the winner via split decision. After the fight many thought that the pair would do a rematch but Serrano decided to go for the Brenda Carvajal fight.
Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently gave an interview on the DAZN Boxing show. During the interview, Hearn questioned the importance of the rematch between Serrano and Taylor. He said :
“It’s the biggest fight in women’s boxing. But no disrespect to Amanda Serrano, she should be actively seeking that rematch. Like if you lose a split, in one of the greatest fights of all time, you’d like to think that you’d chase the rematch. But she’s not really chasing the rematch. But look, let her do her thing on August sixth. Katie will have another fight, probably in October, and hopefully [they fight again].”

“See if you’re really the pound-for-pound best” – Jake Paul gives suggestion to Katie Taylor for her next fight
Paul recently did an interview with DAZN Boxing where he spoke about Taylor and his ideas regarding the Irish.
Paul clearly stated that they can offer a whopping $2million to Taylor if she cuts weight and comes down to flyweight division. Paul revealed that Taylor can then fight Serrano at 125 lbs like Serrano did by going up the weight. Paul gave a clear challenge to Taylor by questioning her position as the pound-for-pound number one fighter. He said:
“We have $2million for Katie Taylor to come down to 126lbs. Katie Taylor – why don’t you come down to 126lbs, go against Amanda Serrano in that weight? She came up to fight you. Come down to 126lbs, see if you’re really the pound-for-pound best.”
Last fight was very close and many people weren’t even satisfied with the decision. This is an opportunity for Taylor to run it back and register a dominating win and show why she is the champion. It will surely be one of the biggest rematches in recent women’s boxing history and will sell a huge pay-per-view.
