According to the latest reports, Tyson Fury vs. Usyk is no longer happening this year. The highly anticipated clash between heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has faced another setback. Authorities have forced fans to wait until January for the thrilling matchup to commence.

The boxing community eagerly awaited the monumental showdown at the end of April. Usyk surprisingly agreed to a 70/30 purse split in favor of his formidable rival, Fury. However, other things did not go as smoothly. Negotiations hit a roadblock when the parties disagreed on a crucial rematch clause included in their contractual agreement.

Following the failed negotiations, rumors circulated again. This time the event was reportedly scheduled for December in Saudi Arabia. The event was to feature Fury taking on Usyk on the same card as Anthony Joshua taking on Deontay Wilder. Unfortunately, Fury’s promoter recently confirmed that the highly anticipated undisputed bout will no longer proceed as planned. Authorities in Saudi Arabia have decided to postpone the fight until January.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Warren, Fury’s promoter, expressed his frustration. “He will not be fighting on the Skill Challenge show in December because they’re talking about their show now being postponed until January,” he said. “We have to make things happen… We tried to make it happen three times already this year with Usyk, contrary to all of the social media c***, and he didn’t want it.”

Oleksandr Usyk, hailing from Ukraine, has held the position of reportedly Tyson Fury’s biggest challenge for the longest time. He has held multiple world championships in two weight classes.
