“I’ll get the credit I deserve”- Anthony Joshua talks about avenging his loss against Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua will once again step inside the boxing ring with Oleksandr Usyk in August and he is confident that he will avenge his loss that he faced against Usyk last year. Usyk and Joshua fought last year in September for the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight title and Joshua was dominated by Usyk throughout the fight because of Usyk’s superior boxing. Joshua lost the fight via a unanimous decision and Usyk became the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion.

A rematch between the two heavyweights was announced recently and the fight would take place on August 20 in saudi Arabia. Joshua has been serious about the fight and has been training hard and is now working with American coach Robert Garcia. Oleksandr was serving his country in the war against Russia, but left the war to prepare for the fight against Anthony.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Anthony talked about the rematch and said he is confident that he will beat Oleksandr on August 20 and he will regain the credit that he deserves. Anthony said: “I feel when I go and beat Usyk, I’ll get the credit I deserve again. And I’ll get the admiration for being a true boxing legend… I fought for the heavyweight championship in my 16th fight; I felt like it’s kind of overlooked.”

“I’m the comeback king”- Anthony Joshua is confident he will beat Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch fight

Anthony Joshua x Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua will try to regain his heavyweight championship from Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch.

Anthony is certain that the rematch will end in his favor and he will become the heavyweight champion again. In 2019, Anthony suffered his first professional defeat against Andy Ruiz via seventh-round TKO. The loss caused him his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Titles. However, 6 months later, Anthony avenged his loss against Ruiz and won the rematch via a unanimous decision.

Anthony then successfully defended his titles against Kubrat Pulev but lost them against Usyk in the next fight. Anthony believes he can once again make his comeback and defeat Usyk in the rematch to win back the titles. He talked about this in the press conference and explained that he is the “comeback king.”

Anthony said: “When I was a youngster, I got in a little-bit of trouble now and again, and you know I was blessed with a second chance and I found boxing and I took it with both hands. So if you know me and a lot about my story, you can know that I’m the comeback king. You can put me down, but it’s difficult to keep me down ’cause I always keep my spirits high.”
