The boxing match between Andrei Mikhailovich and Alex Hanan witnessed a very unruly moment during the start of the boxing match.

It is extremely common in combat sports for fighters to try and intimidate their opponents before the fights. In order to do this, athletes do various kinds of stuff like trash-talking, mocking, etc. However, in this case, the fighter just went on to take a shot at his opponent before the fight inside the ring. 

The incident took place in the undercard of Paul Gallen vs Justis Huni in 2021. Fighters Andrei Mikhailovich and Alex Hanan were showing their annoyance towards each throughout the build-up to the fight. The trash-talking was immense and the animosity was quite visible.

During the fight, both fighters stood in the middle and as the referee asked to touch gloves, Hanan chose to do something which was not professional at all. Hanan didn’t touch gloves, instead took a cheap shot to the gut of Mikhailovich. The referee immediately warned Hanan not to do that again as it will result in disqualification.

The kiwi was surprised by this move however, didn’t lose his composure at all. Throughout the boxing match, Mikhailovich dominated Hanan and in the end, won the fight via KO. It was a perfect revenge for Mikhailovich who proved it when it mattered the most.

Even though both fighters hated each other and didn’t show any respect while fighting each other. After the fight, it was all gone. Both Andrei Mikhailovich and Alex Hanan squashed their beef right after the fight and embraced each other with respect. After that Mikhailovich talked to the media about the incident and shared how it is common for fighters to react like this against their opponents.

He said: “Fights take the bad blood out of s*** but Alex and I, we’re all sweet now, we’ll be friends for life now. Whenever you share a fight someone there’s always that respect afterwards so that’s all there is to it.”

Most of the time, fighters try to intimidate their opponents and get into their heads ahead of their fight to have a psychological upper hand. However, in the process of implementing that one must not forget to attempt any barred moves. Sometimes fighters need to stay grounded to the earth and should avoid such actions that are just blatant disrespect towards their opponent and the sport as a whole.
